Horrible upholstery fabric with pillsRaneiShortly after the return period, the blue fabric on this sofa started to pill. It wasn’t even 6 months old but Ikea would do nothing about it. They should have stopped selling it. Terribly disappointing.

You get what you pay forJamesWe bought the sofa and matching chair with ottoman. Although it looks nice and is fairly comfortable, the fabric upholstery is very poor quality. It pills like crazy and feels rough. We bought a fabric shaver to smooth it out, but this has to be done almost constantly. It’s only a matter of time before there will be holes through the cloth. I wasn’t expecting high end furniture, but this is very disappointing. Hopefully we’ll get a couple or so years out of it and find better.
poor quality fabricBrianI feel sad to have to write this bad review and even sadder to waste my time having to do this! I bought this sofa in December, I've only had it for 2 months. And I've never had anything of such poor quality. I've always taken care of my house, I tried to keep it clean and well cared for, but look at the photos and see what's left... It looks like a sofa that's been used for years, it doesn't indicate anything at all. Now I'm trying to return it, but how am I going to take an already assembled sofa to the store? I don't have a truck for that. I hope you can help me with this.
Nice little sofaArleneWe chose this sofa for the raised arm rests, three cushion seat and back, and the color, red. We have a cat and little dog. The cat hair comes off easily with a lint roller. I read about the seats moving, so I laid down a yoga mat between the seat cushions and the frame. The seats have not budged!!
Sad, about the upholstery.WendyI bought the couch and chair for my sister, but unfortunately, I didn't read the details. Unlike other Ikea sofas I have had, the cover is not removable. I bought it thinking the cover didn't matter much and we could purchase a different one, more customized to my sister's taste. Sadly, that is not the case. Learning that the fabric cover pills is not a removable cover, makes me doubly disappointed.
Not as bad as other reviewers say...MchaelWe purchased this sofa while it was on sale shortly before Christmas as we were expecting guests, but didn't have a proper sofa for our guest to sit on.
It seems sturdy enough. The cushions aren't luxurious, but they are comfortable. I'm not crazy about the upholstery as it does feel a bit rough and scratchy at first.
I haven't noticed the upholstery itself pilling, but the upholstery does cause clothing to pill. All of the pilling on our sofa is from other fabrics rubbing against the upholstery.
We solved this issue by putting a blanket over it. We also have a handheld fabric shaver that we've used to clean it up a bit.
It isn't a luxurious sofa, but it's perfectly serviceable and still looks nice in our living room (we purchased the teal color). For $399 it feels like quite a bargain.
Do not recommend.Anonymous reviewerI would return it if I could. Arrived/delivered with a snag(on me) I had guests arriving the next day. Setup in guest room, it is rarely used and the pilling is out of control. Cheap fabric not very comfortable. Cushions sliding out is another issue.

DisappointingJaimeTerrible material if you own pets. The dog hair is impossible to get out of the textured material and it has pulls all over. I’ve had this couch for less than a year and I’m ready to throw it away. Cushions constantly slip out and the arms have a particle board that you can feel in your shoulder if you try to lay down. Very disappointed in the quality because the photo looks lovely and the teal color is really nice. I’ve had $400 couches from ikea that are better.
Very disappointedSuzanneI really wish we hadn’t wasted the money on this sofa. The cushions slide off when you sit on it. The back cushions have lost their shape after only a few months of use. The material is already pilling and it’s impossible to get dog hair out of the weave.

But, I've had this for two months and the back cushions (for the beige colour) are wrinkly and look cheap. The biggest issue is that the bottom cushions slide out constantly, so after sitting on them one or two cushions slide out and have to be manually adjusted or you'd fall into the gap eventually. The cushions sliding out also do not look great.
And maybe i sit on the couch too much but there is already pilling on the fabric after two months of use.
Pretty darn good for the price!EmilyI recently bought this couch and honestly it's pretty much living up to all my expectations! I will say if you are, maybe, a tiny girl like myself and you're getting it delivered, splurge for the in-room level of delivery. It all comes in one box! The cushions were a little wrinkly upon arrival, but they fluffed back out within a couple weeks. A bit on the smaller side, but ideal for my smaller apartment or even a larger space with additional seating. I've only had the couch for a month but it's standing up well to my larger dog (and, most importantly, he likes it too). Pet hair (shorthaired dog) vacuums off pretty easily, I haven't washed the cushion covers yet but i feel like they'd do best in a gentle cycle. I bought the blue, and literally everyone loves the color!!
