Petal Lamp, Silver - 32.8"

$839.00

Poul Henningsen's Artichoke Lamp is renowned for its spherical design inspired by natural forms. Known as the PH Lamp, it was created in 1958, reflecting his passion for 'functionalism' and 'natural living.' Henningsen aimed to design a modern version of the artichoke lamp to soften the harshness of electric lighting. Originally made for Copenhagen's 'Langeline Pavilion' restaurant, the lamps are still there today. This lamp elegantly combines form and function, fitting perfectly into any decor. The contemporary chandelier is a detailed reproduction of the original Artichoke pendant lamp, featuring a diameter of 32.8 inches with 12 arches and 11 rows of precision-cut leaves. Each row has six laser-cut leaves, with the first four rows increasing in size. The final seven rows are uniform in size. The 66 leaves unfold to create the classic 'artichoke' shape, capturing light and softly reflecting it throughout the room. The design offsets each leaf to diffuse direct light, creating a gentle glow from the lamp's center.
