1948 Eiffel Chair, Orange-Metal

$109.00

Originally designed in 1948, this molded shell chair was a runner-up in the Museum of Modern Art's competition for affordable furniture. The shell design accommodates various base styles. 'Dowel' refers to the chair's wooden peg leg design, featuring slots for metal plates that connect underneath. Wire cross bracing enhances the chair's structural stability, adding an industrial aesthetic. The chair retains a wood and steel base paired with a plastic shell with a soft satin finish. Chrome weld points on the Eiffel base have been refined and sealed. Similar to the original, this reproduction offers a 'waterfall curved edge' for comfortable seating, particularly at the back of the legs. The frame and seat dimensions remain true to the 1948 design, complete with non-marking floor protectors.
