The 'round chair' is named for its curved back design. Originally crafted by Hans J. Wegner in 1949, it gained the 'presidential' label from its use in the 1960 Nixon-Kennedy debate.
Crafting the Icon
Kardiel's Presidential chair reproduction is handmade using traditional joinery. Built from solid ash hardwood and upholstered with genuine Italian leather, its construction mirrors the original. The chair's back circles forward to form the armrests, while the wooden seat is padded with low-profile Dacron foam. The front legs rise upward to support the arms, making it versatile for dining, office, or occasional use.
Its high-quality reproduction maintains excellent construction standards at a lower price.
