Color theory is a modernist sideboard with an iconic history, elevated for a contemporary home.1955 Modernist IconThis cubed wood sideboard was originally designed in 1955 and hovered over thin industrial steel tubes capped in solid walnut. When reproducing this classic, we made notes on past usability & made minor adjustments. A reduction in the bank of drawers from 6 to 5 gave more useable vertical space to each remaining drawer. A finger groove was concealed on the drawer face smile for easy opening. We also added a black steel plate behind the drawer smile so contents stacked to the drawer top remain hidden.ABOUT AMERICAN WALNUTHold the stain. American Walnut has its own natural brown color tones. The natural wood presents lighter and darker tones within the various grains. It blends well with light or darker wood pieces.
