Designer shower bases are made from Lucite cross-linked cast acrylic with reinforced backing to prevent floor pan flexing. They are visually appealing and easy to clean. Options include single threshold and low-profile, multiple-threshold models, which can accommodate glass enclosures on one, two, or three sides. The low-profile design offers a clean appearance and easier entry and exit. For a zero-barrier entrance, these bases can be recessed in the floor. Combined with a genuine teak shower tray, they create a flat transition between the bathroom floor and shower. MTI also provides Barrier-Free shower bases, with or without integrated seats, for seamless transfer from bathroom to shower. Custom orders are non-returnable. It is thermoformed and reinforced with fiberglass/resin/titanium to prevent shower floor pan flexing. The surface is at least 30% thicker and stronger than other brands, highly scratch and stain-resistant, and non-porous for easier cleaning and sanitizing. No grout maintenance is required as with tile. Single and multiple-threshold models are available, some with hidden drains. Most bases can be equipped with MTI's Radiance, which adds radiant heat to the shower base floor for extra comfort, and also in the seats of seated models.
