In the 1930s, Eero Saarinen developed a series of chairs made from organically-shaped plywood. These designs won the 1940 Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition, which was sponsored by MoMA. Inspired by this success, Saarinen went on to create a chair that offers exceptional comfort.
