Eileen Gray Bibendum Chair Aniline Leather-Bone

$1,879.00

Designed in 1929, the Bibendum Chair features padded circular tubes for modern style and comfort. Named after the Michelin Man due to its resemblance, it adds an artistic focal point to any space. Esteemed by art critics, the Bibendum Chair remains as appealing today as when first created. Materials include a molded fiberglass shell, non-toxic coatings, and a polished chrome finish. Eileen Gray, born in 1878 Ireland, ventured into design in Paris after moving from London. She established herself prominently in art deco through lacquer work and furniture design. Gray's innovative works often included modern materials like chrome and steel tube. Her architecture contributions, encouraged by peers like Le Corbusier, include notable houses and post-war projects. Her designs, now displayed in international collections, exemplify her impact on modern design. Eileen Gray passed away in 1976, but her legacy lives on through her works, with authentic designs still produced by Aram Designs.
