During the 1930s, Eero Saarinen developed a series of chairs with organic shapes using plywood. These designs later won the 1940 Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition sponsored by MoMA. Saarinen's innovative concept led to the creation of a chair offering outstanding comfort.
