Saarinen Executive Side Chair with Casters Vegan Leather-White

$989.00

In the 1930s, Eero Saarinen designed a line of organically-shaped plywood chairs, later winning the 1940 MoMA-organized Organic Design Competition. Inspired by these, he created a chair offering exceptional comfort from its shell. This resulted in the sculptural Executive Chair, which garnered the 1969 MoMA Award and West Germany's Federal Award for Industrial Design. Made with a molded fiberglass shell and high elasticity foam wrapped in genuine down, it features premium upholstery options, adjustable height, and swivel functionality. Eero, born in 1910 to Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen, studied at Cranbrook Academy and Yale, later working in the OSS during WWII before founding his own practice, where he designed until his passing in 1961.
