Durock 1-5/8" screws are high-quality, corrosion-resistant fasteners designed for attaching various types of backerboards and underlayments to wood or steel framing members. They can be used for both interior and exterior applications and have a corrosion-resistant coating that resists 1500+ hours of salt-spray testing. The RECEX Robertson/Phillips combo drive produces a cling fit that reduces driving effort and extends bit life, promoting faster driving. It features a large wafer-type head for exceptional holding power and strip-out prevention ribs that prevent pull-through. The screws are also designed with two thread designs and have a coarse (hi-lo) thread design for wood framing and a self-drilling thread design for 14 to 20 gauge metal stud thicknesses. They are packaged in a clear and durable plastic jar that includes a square bit and can be repurposed or recycled. To install, use a screw gun capable of 1500-2500 rpm and apply screws 3/8" to 5/8" from panel edges.
