INTRO:
This outrageously stylish, three-tone wooden lamp base has been fully cleaned, restored and rewired. Presented in a sleek, spindle form, this is a gorgeous example of Scandinavian minimalism and is adorned with extremely Deco-reminiscent patterning. This knockout lamp would fit in beautifully with any similarly mid-century interior, and would make the perfect lounge lamp.
CONDITION:
The base is in excellent vintage condition, with only a few light cosmetic scratches and dents belying its age. The base has responded fantastically well to a generous beeswax coating and polish. The wood is now stunningly glossy, and this lamp has been a true survivor.
THE TECHNICAL BIT:
SPINDLE has had all vintage electrical components removed and replaced with modern variants. In place of the original Bakelite B22 lamp holder (which limited where in the world the lamp could be used, and is itself slowly fading into obsolescence) now sits a gorgeous, machine-milled brass E27/ES version, now making the lamp compatible with bulbs sold in the UK, Europe, the US and beyond, extended slightly from the base with new brass to ensure maximum visibility once a lampshade is added.
SPINDLE has been rewired with luxurious quality bark coloured linen and rayon covered cable in a fantastic zig-zag pattern, featuring a high quality white inline rocker switch 20cm from the lamp base (and a further 1m to the matching white UK 3-pin plug). The metal lamp holder is earthed using three-core cable, and the lamp has been thoroughly PAT tested and approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). ---------------
