This work is part of Doggett’s "Discovering the Horses of Sable Island" collection. In 2012, Doggett traveled to the narrow, crescent-shaped ribbon of sand and rock off the coast of Nova Scotia known as Sable Island. With no predators other than the harsh environment, the horses of Sable Island live on this unique island entirely on their own terms. These photographs capture the physicality, beauty, and mystery of these incredible animals as they relate to one another and their surrounding habitat. Taken in Doggett’s signature black-and-white style, these works have been featured in interiors around the world since their debut.
