Vibrant painting by Henry Sanders (Helmut Saloman) framed original watercolour of the Piazza della Signoria, Florence painted in 1959
Vibrant original watercolour painting by Henry Sanders (Helmuth Saloman) (1918-1982). Painted in 1959. Signed in the bottom right. Watercolour on paper. Framed with glass. The landscape is of the Piazza della Signoria in Florence where he travelled often. His work features in many private and museum collections. You can read more about him on the biography on the back of the painting. This is an especially fine example of this much celebrated Jewish artist's expressionist work. He brings the Piazza della Signoria to live with a wonderful range of colours and textures. You can feel the bustle as the statues seem to come to life with the backdrop of the famous towers reach up into fantastic billowing clouds.
