This reserved and thoughtfully achieved Mid-Century Modernist Bronze Side Table by Warren Platner originates from the United States, Circa 1960. It features a contoured body composed of numerous parallel bronze rods, moving up and slightly inwards from the base, then expanding near the glass top. The rods extend slightly past a circular supporting element, surrounding the beveled glass top and creating a dynamic rhythm to the table. Requiring extreme precision and hundreds of welds each table, this design by Planter cemented his reputation and helped usher in new sensibilities and processes for modernist design.
