This pair of vintage mid century modern black Barcelona chairs designed by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll (attr.) are circa early 1990s. This iconic Bauhaus chair originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929 for the Barcelona Pavillion exhibits “functional minimalism” and epitomize early 20th century modernism. The Barcelona chair combines elegant, sophisticated design with premium materials, exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This set of Barcelona lounge chairs feature a heavy, polished chrome stainless steel frame and is upholstered in the original black leather with thick, welted piping, tufted buttons and 17 cowhide belting leather straps on backrest and seat. These versatile and timeless chairs pair well with a wide range of decor styles from mid century modern to transitional to contemporary; the perfect pair for home or office.
