Set of Six Green Philippe Stark "Louis 20" Chairs
Out of production, this set of six green 'Louis 20 armchairs are a rare find. A result of lengthy experiments with Swiss manufacturer Vitra, Philippe Starck’s Louis XX chair is lightweight, stackable and use recyclable materials. The quantity and color of this set make them highly desirable. A single piece of blown polypropylene forms the hollow front legs, curvy seat, and springy back. Polished aluminium, 99 percent pure, comprises the slender back legs and armrests. Durable and easily disassembled, the armchair works equally well indoors and out. Starck ironically named this chair "Louis XX" poking fun at the French tradition of adding numbers after the names of kings with the same name. This chair is in the permanent collection of MoMA and numerous international museum collections. Chair is no longer in production. Extremely collectible.
