Ragnar Granit

Ragnar Arthur Granit (1900-1991), Finnish-Swedish physician, physiologist and Nobel laureate. Granit was educated in Helsinki, Finland, but in 1940 sought refuge in Stockholm, Sweden, from the Soviet-Finnish wars, thereafter maintaining a home in both countries. Granit shared the 1967 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Haldan Keffer Hartline and George Wald.
