Chesterfield Modern Classic Sofa

Designers are pairing updated Chesterfield sofas with modern icons both mid-century and contemporary. Updated Chesterfields are an exceptional option for use in modern decors. They offer a nod to tradition providing stature and stability while breaking out of the mold simultaneously. The use is also becoming very popular in eclectic spaces where a mixture of eras is the goal.

Making the Icon

The Kardiel reproduction is a careful study of the origin. It suggests that it takes more than tufting to define the Chesterfield. Generous proportions and a slightly understated roll in the arms combine with an updated seat rail and redefined wooden legs.

The history of the Chesterfield Sofa dates back to the 18th century. Over time, the design has been reinterpreted in many different ways. The Kardiel Modern Chesterfield is without doubt a brilliantly respectful update on a classic sofa. This modern Chesterfield sits comfortably at home in any décor.

About Velour Fabric

Velour, in general, is a soft pile fabric that has been woven since the beginning of the middle ages. It is soft to the touch with a distinctive nap. It is woven on a loom unique to velour fabrics. Often used on modern furniture where a clean appearance is desired, micro-velvet is a form of standard velvet fabric. The velour variety is considered a lower maintenance fabric. It features a low nap, which reduces the light and dark variation of a traditional crushed velvet.
