Conceived in 1962, the Apollo chair marries organic design with technical refinement. Its four upholstered shells offer full body support, alluding to human anatomy with references to the spine and ribs. Appearing almost transparent, the chair integrates seamlessly into any space. Notably, the Apollo was chosen for use by European state leaders during the 2002 EU summit in Copenhagen. The chair's design balances ergonomic innovation, comfort, and technical streamlining, with four oval shells providing optimal support. Constructed with a shiny stainless steel frame, and upholstered in fine Italian leather or various fabrics, the heavily padded oval shells feature molded polyurethane foam. Kardiel expertly reproduces the Apollo Chair, handcrafted with top materials and a stainless steel base. Inspired by a solar eclipse time-lapse, its name and elliptical form reflect modern materials and natural light. Cashmere wool, sourced from Cashmere goats, includes a soft undercoat mixed with coarse guard hair. The fine undercoat needs de-hairing to separate the coat types, allowing further processing into premium cashmere yarn.
