1948 Eiffel Chair, Red

$119.00

Originally designed in 1948, this molded shell chair ranked second out of 3,000 entries in an international competition for low-cost furniture design sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art. The chair shell can fit various base types, with 'Dowel' referring to its wooden peg-leg design. Metal plates bolt to the dowels, adding structural stability alongside wire cross-bracing. It features a wood and steel base with an ABS plastic shell, maintaining its original soft satin glow. Chrome weld points have been sanded and sealed. Reproduction includes a 'waterfall curved edge' for leg comfort. Its design and dimensions faithfully replicate the 1948 original, complete with non-marking floor protectors.
