Originally designed in 1948, the Eames La Chaise is more an art piece than a chair. It is designed around reverse sculpting for an ergonomic lounging experience. Created for the Museum of Modern Art, it wasn't initially produced due to high production costs. The design includes fiberglass shells joined for a comfortable depth, separated by a rubber disk and filled with Styrene. Its flowing form supports relaxation. Supported by solid steel posts and a Walnut platform, the Kardiel reproduction of La Chaise mirrors the original dimensions and materials, offering a blend of sculpture and function.
