Le Chaise Lounge Chair, Orange/Walnut

$599.00

Inspired by a 1948 Eames design, this chair is sculptural, reflecting an art piece ethos. It was originally crafted to mimic the human form for ergonomic lounging. Although created for the Museum of Modern Art, it wasn't sold initially due to production costs. The design features bonded fiberglass shells for comfort, separated by a hard rubber disk and filled with Styrene like the original. The body-resting form is supported by five strategically placed diagonal steel posts, with three vertical attachments securing it to a solid walnut base. The rods intersect centrally before attaching. This Kardiel reproduction maintains precise dimensions and materials, remaining a sculpture first and chaise second.
