Rather than being left to rot underground, each felled tree’s sturdy root system is carefully excavated — a painstaking process that pays off in the form of this one-of-a-kind piece. The top is sanded and polished for a smooth feel, while the sides are left untouched, making this console completely unique. Borrowing from an ancient wood burning practice, it’s coated with several layers of a squid ink and shellac mixture, which is charred before drying to create a deep charcoal black finish.
