Plywood Chair, Black & White Cowhide

$349.00

Designed using pre-WWII plywood molding technology developed by the Eames, the original chair was a collaboration between Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, known for the Womb Chair. They entered the LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) along with other pieces into the Museum of Modern Art's 'Organic Furniture Competition' in 1940, where they won. However, production was delayed due to the U.S. entry into WWII. Our reproduction of the Eames Style Plywood Lounge Chair (LCW) maintains the original's posture and solid form, offering comfort reminiscent of a school chair but much more comfortable. Available in black and white or brown and white cowhide covers, it combines modernist design with a Western look, sparking conversation and creating a relaxed atmosphere. Kardiel's reproduction stays true to the 1946 original, featuring high-quality construction for long-lasting service. The plywood is molded to exact specifications, providing soft contours for relaxation. The back and seat tilt angle positions the sitter as originally intended, offering quality and comfort at a fraction of the cost.
