Kardiel
Plywood Chair, Red
Originally designed using plywood molding technology developed by the Eames before World War II. Charles and Eero Saarinen, designer of the Womb Chair, entered the LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) along with other pieces into the Museum of Modern Art's 'Organic Furniture Competition' in 1940. They won the competition, but production was delayed due to the United States entering WWII. Our Eames Style Plywood Lounge Chair (LCW) reproduction maintains a solid form and comfortable posture, reminiscent of school chairs but much more comfortable. Available in leather black, white, brown, or white 'cow hide' covers, as well as wood. The modernist design combined with the Pony Skin 'Western style' look will spark conversation and create a relaxed atmosphere. Kardiel's reproduction of the original LCW Eames chair stays true to the 1946 design. This high-quality reproduction includes all the original construction features, ensuring durability and great design. The plywood is molded to precise curvature, creating inviting contours. The back and seat tilt angle is designed to provide the unique sitting position intended by the original design. This reproduction offers quality and design at a fraction of the original cost.
