Kardiel
Plywood Dining Chair, Black
Initially designed using advanced plywood molding techniques by Eames before WWII, the original chair competed at the Museum of Modern Art's 'Organic Furniture Competition' in 1940. Despite winning with the help of designer Eero Saarinen, production was delayed due to the U.S. involvement in WWII. Our Eames Style Plywood Lounge Chair is a reproduction that maintains the original's posture and solid form, reminiscent of a familiar school desk yet much more comfortable. Available in leather and wood finishes, with options like black, brown, or cow hide, the chair's modernist design combined with a Western style adds character and a mellow atmosphere to any setting. Kardiel faithfully reproduces the original 1946 Lounge Chair design, ensuring longevity and great design. Molded plywood provides the right contours for comfort and relaxation, with the unique back and seat angles as intended.
