Making the Icon
One of the most influential Mid Century Modern icons of the 20th century. But not all furniture is made the same way. Our dedicated upholsterers keep the lines tailored, the upholstery taunt and the curves even. Florence's squeak-free frame is solid wood, glued & screwed. Buttons are hand sewn. Cushions are individually fitted to the frame and generously filled. Florence is delivered with a limited lifetime warranty.
Art isn’t the only way to make a statement in your living space. Ample cubic cushions featuring compressed buttons in a purposeful layout exude style and comfort. Kardiel's refreshed twist on the midcentury modern icon keeps comfort and quality alive for today's generation of Modernism enthusiasts.
About Cashmere Wool Tweed
Cashmere wool fiber is obtained from “Cashmere goats.” Historically, fine-haired Cashmere goats have been called Capra hircus laniger, as if they were a subspecies of the domestic goat Capra Hircus. Cashmere goats produce a double fleece that consists of a fine, soft undercoat or under-down of hair mingled with a straighter and much coarser outer coating of hair called Guard Hair. For the fine under-down to be sold and processed further, it must be de-haired. De-hairing is a mechanical process that separates the coarse hairs from the fine hair. After this separating process the resulting premium “cashmere” is ready to be dyed and converted into yarn.
