Happy Birthday: MR Bauhaus Collection by Knoll International. For the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School, Knoll International has also reissued a classic of Bauhaus history: the MR collection by designer Mies van der Rohe. The MR collection consists of the first steel furniture designs by the famous designer. Inspired by Bauhaus colleague Marcel Breuer, Mies van der Rohe chose the material and was inspired by 19th century iron swing chairs. In 1977 the collection received an award from the Museum of Modern Art and in the following year the Design Center Stuttgart Award.
