In Mexico, Majolica differs from traditional Talavera through artistic form and color use. While Talavera is famed for its detailed patterns, Majolica opts for freer designs. The Santa Rosa workshop, established by the Salazar family in central Mexico's mountains, uses local clay from the Sierra de Santa Rosa.
