El Palomar Stoneware Butter Dish with Lid

$25.15

Stoneware pottery is renowned for its durability. Crafted from a blend of specific clay and rock, stoneware becomes extremely hard through high-temperature firing. Founded in 1964, Ceramica el Palomar de las Margaritas in Mexico produces this robust pottery known for its high-fired quality, initiated by ceramist Ken Edwards. Sourcing unique clay from Celaya, their lead-free mixture forms stoneware that takes 28 days to make, reaching kiln temperatures of up to 2,350°F. This technique results in a glass-like surface, making it safe for the microwave, oven, and dishwasher, and perfect for daily use. The hand-painted patterns reflect family traditions, with the Kent family continuing the artisanal legacy. Each piece is designed to last and be cherished over generations.
