Gravity Chaise Lounge, Black/White Cowhide
This mid-century modern chaise lounge is one of the most iconic designs of the 1920s and 30s, first created in 1928 and showcased at Salon D'Automne in 1929. It was initially commissioned for a villa in Ville d'Avray, near Paris, and is notable for its ability to adjust its angle using gravity to complement the body’s natural contours. Kardiel's reproduction replicates the original with precision, featuring a plush seat filled with multidensity foam, ensuring comfortable lounging for hours. The base is made of heat powder-coated steel, while the body features triple chrome-coated tubular bent steel for erecting the authentic design's dimensions and scale. The chaise is upholstered in top grain Aniline leather or genuine cowhide for durability and timeless style. Cowhide maintains its original coloring and is a by-product of the food industry, processed to ensure softness and longevity, with each piece having unique color variations. Key features include a modernist design, robust steel base, elastic seat supports, removable cushions with zipper, and protective floor caps. Dimensions: 22" wide x 64" long for the chaise, and 5.7" diameter x 19.88" long for the pillow. It comes with a three-year limited warranty. Black, Caramel, Choco Brown, and Cream White leather options are available, using only 5% of the world's top-tier Aniline leather. This leather type, dyed thoroughly, offers a natural leather feel and appearance, with a stain-resistant treatment for everyday practical use. Comparison with Split Grain explains its higher durability and aesthetics. Kardiel specializes in fast and secure deliveries across the U.S, including service in Hawaii and Alaska.
