Making the Platform Modernist Cabinet

The well thought out leg design is a skillful fusion of mid-century and contemporary forms. The platform’s main body consists of 3 compartments. An open center compartment, a single pull out drawer and a section enclosed by 2 sliding doors. The body is slightly raised off the face of the leg, creating the space and distance between the two planes. By viewing the side angle, you can see that within the leg structure itself varying plane heights are created with the width base rail being offset in height from the depth base rail. Depth and intrigue are created with these design techniques. In the late 50’s & early 60’s, Finn Juhl and Arne Vodder were among the first to experiment with formica and natural wood surfaces in modernist storage units. Since that time, the micro sizing of technology makes the original size of these credenza’s completely relevant today.

For many, the platform is a comfortable solution for housing various entertainment & Television equipment while showcasing discerning taste for timeless modernism. The Ash wood veneer body is carefully finished and polished to a rich natural luster.

About American Ash

The American Ash species is widely admired for its vibrant light, airy color tone and intriquing graining. The natural untouched wood presents lighter and mid tones within the various grains, something not acheivable when applying topical stain. American Ash is a premium species which has been used in modern and heirloom furniture pieces for centuries. Ash coordintates well with other colors and is used with other wood species of varying tones.

Your furnishings are brought into your home and placed in the desired location in the room(s) of your choice. The furniture is removed from the packaging/boxes. The old packaging material is then placed in a designated location.

The safe arrival of your items is guaranteed and no obstacle is too large. We will do anything necessary to complete your delivery with quality, care and a smile. Curbside Residential Delivery

This economical delivery option brings your new furnishings direct to your home or business. The term curbside indicates that the items are brought to the "curb" but not inside the home.

This is a signed delivery option which means you will need to be present to accept the delivery. You will need to be prepared to carry the items into your home or office as this service does not include inside delivery. Tracking numbers are provided within 24 hours of your order leaving the Kardiel warehouse. Average delivery times nationwide for this service are 7-10 business days from the day the shipment leaves the Kardiel warehouse. The delivery is guaranteed safe when you inspect and sign with the driver for any potential shipping damage. The delivery company calls to schedule the delivery date and window of time as the arrival date of your items draws closer.

Hawaii & Alaska

Hawaii & Alaska orders allow average 12-18 business days for arrival. Tracking numbers will be provided. Alaska and Hawaii orders are not eligible for advertised "continental U.S" shipping promotions. As over water transport is involved, the shopping cart will not calculate

We take the risk and make it easy in the unlikely event of freight damage. Simply inspect and sign for any damage or suspected damage on delivery day and prior to the driver leaving. In the event of damage, we will issue you a return ticket if needed and refund or replace the damaged item
