Kardiel
Tulip Side Chair, White Wool
Designed in 1955 by Eero Saarinen, the Tulip Chair complements the Tulip Table and has received multiple design awards. Known for its futuristic shape, it gained further fame from being featured on the Star Trek show. Original Tulip chairs made of fiberglass are still functional today, while many reproductions now use ABS plastic. Over time, plastic may crack at stress points, but fiberglass offers both a durable sheen and longevity. Kardiel's reproduction adheres closely to the original design. Despite fiberglass chairs being pricier than plastic, the difference in lifespan and appearance is notable. Featuring white molded fiberglass shells and cast aluminum bases, these chairs are stylishly smooth with a gloss sheen. For added comfort, they include a multi-density foam seat cushion covered in tweed cashmere wool. Dimensions match the original with a 360-degree swivel base and removable seat cushion for easy maintenance. Floor protection caps on legs and coordinating armchairs complete the look.
