Tulip Mid Century Modern Table

Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1964, the original Tulip Table is known for its spherical simplicity and modern aesthetic. Available in a variety of sizes, it can serve as an occasional table or a full dining table. The design features a circular base with a stem extending to a larger circular top. The Tulip is one of the most celebrated designs in mid-century modern tables.

Evolution of an Iconic Design

In the initial design phase, Saarinen used fiberglass for the Tulip Table's stem and base. However, he found that fiberglass was not strong enough to support the table. He then switched to a cast aluminum base with a Rilsan coating to match the fiberglass's gloss and color. Both the table and chairs, designed in 1964 and 1965 respectively, have a clean, refined appearance with a glossy finish. The table comes in various dimensions, suitable for everything from occasional tables to full dining suites. An interesting fact: the Tulip Chair was featured in Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek from 1966 to 1969, with one chair recently auctioning for over $18,000.

Curbside Residential Delivery

This economical option delivers your furnishings to your home or business curbside. You will need to be present to accept the delivery and carry the items inside. Tracking numbers are provided within 24 hours of dispatch, with delivery times ranging from 7-10 business days. The delivery company will schedule the delivery date and time window.

Hawaii & Alaska

For orders to Hawaii and Alaska, allow 12-18 business days for arrival. Tracking numbers will be provided. These orders are not eligible for continental U.S. shipping promotions. Contact us for a custom delivery quote prior to purchasing.

Guaranteed & Insured Deliveries

We make it easy in the event of freight damage. Inspect and sign for any damage upon delivery. If damage occurs, we will issue a return ticket and either refund or replace the damaged item.
