Serpentine Comb-back
The Serpentine Arm Comb-back Windsor chair was design by Douglas P. Dimes and is based on a chair originally in the Collection of Colonial Williamsburg. The Windsor chair form is unusual in that it does not have a turned arm post. The curved nature of arm allows for more seat room for those of us who’ve had a little too much of the good life. The chairs beauty stems from a very well chamfered shield shaped seat that gives a very light appearance while the elongated Pennsylvania blunt arrow turning makes the chair seem like it’s on tippy toes. The flaring out of the arms echo the shape of the arm post and creates an inviting place to sit.
