Making the Icon

Sleek rectangular shapes define both the seat and frame design. Unlike many mid-century modern pieces, Eleanor combines comfortable seating with exceptional aesthetics. The snug fitted back design ensures a well-tailored appearance.

For ease of maintenance, the seat cushion does not feature button tufting. A single row of button tufting adorns the back. The gently cushioned frame and matching piping at the seams highlight the minimalist lines. The wooden legs provide a sense of grounding, while the stiletto design lifts Eleanor from the floor, creating a spacious midcentury modern feel.

Aniline Dyeing involves soaking hides in transparent aniline dyes, allowing the color to absorb into the natural hide. Top Grain Aniline leather is then stain-protected to minimize liquid absorption during everyday use, without requiring imitation grain stamping. Without synthetic coatings, it breathes naturally, making it comfortable for seating. It is soft, supple, durable, and pliable, maintaining the characteristics of pure leather.
