Sleek rectangular shapes are evident in both the seat and frame design. Unlike many mid-century modern pieces, Eleanor combines comfortable seating with appealing aesthetics. The snug fitted back design ensures a consistently well-tailored appearance.
Button tufting is absent on the seat cushion for easier maintenance. A single row of button tufting decorates the back. The gently cushioned frame and matching piping at the seams emphasize the minimalist lines. Wooden legs provide a sense of grounding, while the stiletto design lifts Eleanor from the floor, creating a spacious midcentury modern feel.
Cashmere wool fiber comes from “Cashmere goats.” These goats produce a double fleece with a fine, soft undercoat mixed with a straighter, coarser outer coat called Guard Hair. The fine under-down must be de-haired, a mechanical process that separates the coarse hairs from the fine ones. After de-hairing, the premium “cashmere” is ready to be dyed and spun into yarn.
