The Kardiel reproduction of this mid century modern icon features heavy down feather overstuffed cushions you can sink into. An original metal Sinuos no sag "S Coil" suspension system encased in high density foam was selected for the seat platform of Jackie. Adding flair, the splay base is narrower where it meets the floor, has a higher degree of outward angle. For stylizing effects the length of the leg has been extended approximately 1” further than a typical splay design. A hand crafted solid kiln dried hardwood frame features metal and dowel joinery methods.

Making the icon

Some of the most relevant modernism seating designs were created in the 1950's & 60's. Whether your Mid Mod design approach is themed “Mad Men” or the classic “I love Lucy”, Jackie’s profile will take you there. Perhaps you are in search of the midcentury icon that is large enough for real life. Jackie features substantial proportions and is designed to effortlessly perform mixed roles, whether you are curling up your legs for some comfortable reading time or formally hosting in black. Jackie's expansive profile is achieved by using wider down feather overstuffed seat cushions without button tufting. An upholstered solid wood bottom seat rail curves at each end rolling upward and outward into vertical flaring arms. The affixed low profile single piece back features one row of period correct blind tufting but perhaps the base of Jackie is the most telling modernist detail of the design.

Whether placed in the center of the room or with its back to the wall, the solid gently curved varnished wood undercarriage adds the element of handcrafted artisan design. The wooden mid century modern flair leg is the perfect option for suspending Jackie’s frame from the floor. The degree of leg flair angle was carefully measured staying authentic to this original 1950’s design feature. The timeless splayed leg design with the correct degree of outward angle pulls all of Jackie’s modernism features together capturing the true feeling of the period.

About Vintage Tailored Twill

Twill is an interwoven knit fabric. The thread takes turns in an over and under weave forming a crooked yet overall lineal rectangle pattern that can be discerned at close range. The pattern exists but appears somewhat random when viewed from a normal distance. Vintage Tailored Twill features a finer, tightly tailored flat weave appearance.

Vintage Tailored Twill provides perhaps a more refined, tailored appearance than that of a typical coarse twill. It relies on the multi-tone nature of the fabric strands themselves to provide the appearance of depth of texture.

The best value for those looking for a full service delivery experience with no lifting or physical effort involved. A team of 2 rigorously screened home delivery professionals arrive on a day and time prescheduled with you. Your furnishings are brought into your home and placed in the desired location in the room(s) of your choice. The furniture is removed from the packaging/boxes. The old packaging material is then placed in a designated location.

Perhaps you need door(s) removed and replaced? Maybe you live in a condo or high rise building? Maybe there are flight(s) of stairs to climb? The safe arrival of your items is guaranteed and no obstacle is too large. We will do anything necessary to complete your delivery with quality, care and a smile. Average delivery times are 9-12 business days from the day your order leaves the Kardiel warehouse.

Curbside Residential Delivery

This economical delivery option brings your new furnishings direct to your home or business. The term curbside indicates that the items are brought to the "curb" but not inside the home.

This is a signed delivery option which means you will need to be present to accept the delivery. You will need to be prepared to carry the items into your home or office as this service does not include inside delivery. Tracking numbers are provided within 24 hours of your order leaving the Kardiel warehouse. Average delivery times nationwide for this service are 7-10 business days from the day the shipment leaves the Kardiel warehouse. The delivery is guaranteed safe when you inspect and sign with the driver for any potential shipping damage. The delivery company calls to schedule the delivery date and window of time as the arrival date of your items draws closer.

Hawaii & Alaska

Hawaii & Alaska orders allow average 12-18 business days for arrival. Tracking numbers will be provided. Alaska and Hawaii orders are not eligible for advertised "continental U.S" shipping promotions. As over water transport is involved, the shopping cart will not calculate
