Easy Chair (1955-56)

The easy chair was coined the 'Cane and Teakwood Armchair' by Pierre Jeanneret when it was unveiled in 1955-56. Previously seen in university housing and administrative buildings, this model is also on show at the Swiss National Museum in Zurich and the City Museum in Chandigarh, India. This version referenced from model PJ-SI-29A features the same sturdy teakwood construction as well as the most crucial elements. Braided caning, 'V' shaped legs resting on armrests, and the slightly slanted backrest attached to the seats by supports at the bottom.
