The Tulip Modernist Table and Chairs were initially crafted in the mid-50s by Eero, receiving prestigious design awards in the 60s. Known for its futuristic curves, the Tulip chair gained fame from Star Trek. Today, it’s recognized as a dining classic. Made from fiberglass and cast aluminum, authentic reproductions last generations. Original Tulip tables, first made entirely from fiberglass, switched to cast aluminum for support. Eero used Rilsan coating over aluminum for cohesion in gloss and color. The Kardiel reproduction uses wool cushions, unlike other plastic-based replicas. Kardiel's chairs match the original design with fiberglass shells and aluminum bases. While pricier, fiberglass offers longevity and superior aesthetics.
