Experience the Kardiel reproduction of this iconic mid-century modern sofa, featuring plush down feather-filled cushions for great comfort. The Elektra model includes a metal Sinuous "S Coil" suspension system with high-density foam for seat support. Both the back and seat cushions are upholstered on both sides, allowing for reversible use. The stiletto legs taper elegantly towards the floor, adding a unique style with the rear legs slightly angled backwards.

From the side, Elektra showcases a design that goes beyond traditional square modern sofa styles. The curved, low-profile armrests enhance both design and comfort. Starting at the base, the thin arms angle forward slightly before rolling softly backwards and downward towards the back. A handcrafted solid kiln-dried hardwood frame features metal and dowel joinery.

Creating the Icon

Initially produced in 1958, Elektra embodies a modern style with mid-century elegance. Every detail, including the height and width of the stiletto legs and the slanted arms, has been meticulously reproduced. The arms' edges are rounded, true to mid-century style, and the back gently angles to provide a comfortable seating posture. Button-free seat cushions and a back cushion featuring a single row of three buttons add to the aesthetic. Both seat and back cushions are removable and feature zippers at the back.

Whether positioned centrally or against a wall, the varnished wood undercarriage adds an element of handcrafted artistry. The mid-century modern legs provide the perfect support for Elektra, capturing the essence of the original 1950s design. The splayed leg design combines all modern features of the Elektra, delivering an authentic period feel.
