Note: Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (German/American 1886-1969) was one of the most important architects of the 20th century and deservedly so for his successful new approaches to building architecture with modern materials and designs for a modern industrial society. One of his pioneering modernist projects was the German Pavilion (aka Barcelona Pavilion) that he and Lily Reich designed for the Barcelona Exposition of 1929. A temporary structure that was to become iconic in modernist architecture, so iconic that after it was torn down it was later reconstructed on the same sight where it can be seen today. His design for the building was continued on the interior with many of its' furnishings where the original Barcelona Chair could be found. The chairs and stools offered here are held to the same exacting standards of the originals but produced by the world renowned Knoll Group.
