Danish Mid-Century Armchair

From the side, the wedge designed the body of Stilt angles to some degree backward with the back cushion following the same angle. The angle provides uniformity in design with cushion following frame and a natural pitch-perfect seating platform results. The modernist cube back features reversible and zippered cushion filled with a dense foam core for memory retention and down feathers for softer seating comfort.

Inspired by Mid-Century Modern Danish Design

A significant portion of the development cost of the Stilt is due to the heirloom finished solid Natural Ash frame base. This hefty architectural element spans the front, the sides, underneath, and artistically extends upwards supporting a significant portion of the back. The depth of the wooden frame exceeds that of the width of the upholstered chair, thus creating interesting angled space in the back between the frame and the chair at the base. The wooden platform is a solid and architecturally stunning element from all angles allowing you to place the chair at any location in the room.

The seat cushion is affixed to the chair body providing a clean well-kept appearance and features a multi-density foam core for memory retention. The seat cushion is then stuffed with down feathers. A richly comfortable seating experience results, an unusual trait from such a streamlined mid-century modern design. The Stilt Chair is a substantial modernist design for a relatively small investment. From the Ash wooden frame to the down feather stuffed cushions to the genuine metal spring system, the Stilt Chair is enduring modernist design, with just a touch of Danish.

ABOUT VINTAGE TAILORED TWILL

Twill is an interwoven knit fabric. The thread takes turns in an over and under weave forming a crooked yet overall lineal rectangle pattern that can be discerned at close range. The pattern exists but appears somewhat random when viewed from a normal distance. Vintage Tailored Twill features a finer, tightly tailored flat weave appearance.

Vintage Tailored Twill provides perhaps a more refined, tailored appearance than that of a typical coarse twill. It relies on the multi-tone nature of the fabric strands themselves to provide the appearance of depth of texture.
