Kennedy Mid-Century Modern Club Chair
Heavy, down feather stuffed cushions you can sink into. Cushions that are upholstered on both sides so you can flip them over for increased longevity. Kennedy is built by hand using a kiln-dried solid hardwood frame. Practical comfort and solid craftsmanship meet original mid-century modern aesthetics. With Kennedy, comfortable modernism is so easy to love. One of the differences you will find in the design of the Kennedy Chair from that of a typical mid-century cube shape is the arms are dropped lower than the height of the back. This lower arm concept is one of the elements responsible for improved seating comfort.
Inspired by Comfortable Modernism
From a visual perspective, the stationary fixed back of Kennedy features a well placed single row of button tufting while still spanning the width of the chair body. The arms do not integrate into backspace, rather they end where the back begins. This allows for a cleaner, more linear design visual while accommodating for the practical comforts of everyday use. The single mid-century modern seat cushion design features a multi-density foam core, but you may notice it is plump and amply overstuffed with down.
A richly comfortable seating experience results from a streamlined mid-century modern seat cushion design. A substantial and intriguing 90-degree angle modern craftsman wooden block leg frame system holds the design to its iconic mid-century modern architectural roots. From the wooden frame to the down feather stuffed cushions to the stitching quality and upgraded premium aniline leather upholstery, Kennedy is crafted entirely by hand.
ABOUT VINTAGE TAILORED TWILL
Twill is an interwoven knit fabric. The thread takes turns in an over and under weave forming a crooked yet overall lineal rectangle pattern that can be discerned at close range. The pattern exists but appears somewhat random when viewed from a normal distance. Vintage Tailored Twill features a finer, tightly tailored flat weave appearance.
Vintage Tailored Twill provides perhaps a more refined, tailored appearance than that of a typical coarse twill. It relies on the multi-tone nature of the fabric strands themselves to provide the appearance of depth of texture.
