Jackie Mid-Century Modern Sofa & Chaise Sectional

Quality ingredients not typically available at this price point. Notice the heft of the seat cushion? The Kardiel reproduction of this mid-century modern icon features heavy down feather overstuffed cushions you can sink into. An original metal Sinuous no sag "S Coil" suspension system encased in high-density foam was selected for the seat platform of Jackie. Adding flair, the splay base is narrower where it meets the floor, has a higher degree of outward angle. For stylizing effects the length of the leg has been extended approximately 1” further than a typical splay design. A handcrafted solid kiln-dried hardwood frame features metal and dowel joinery methods.

Whether placed in the center of the room or with its back to the wall, the solid gently curved varnished wood undercarriage adds the element of handcrafted artisan design. The wooden mid-century modern flair leg is the perfect option for suspending Jackie’s frame from the floor. The degree of leg flair angle was carefully measured staying authentic to this original 1950’s design feature. The timeless splayed leg design with the correct degree of outward angle pulls all of Jackie’s modernism features together capturing the true feeling of the period.

About Genuine Top Grain Aniline Leather

A small percent of the world’s leather supply is of high enough quality for 100% Top Grain Aniline upholstered furniture. Aniline Dyeing is the process of soaking the hides in transparent aniline, which allows color to absorb into the natural hide. Top Grain Aniline leather is then topical stain protected to minimize liquid absorption during everyday use but does not require imitation grain stamping methods, which imprint a Faux grain over the majority of the leather surface. Without all the synthetic topical coatings, it breathes naturally making it comfortable for seating. It is soft, supple, durable and pliable, maintaining the characteristics of pure leather.
