Design Inspiration

An intriguing story, possibly mythical, surrounds the design by Danish designer Wegner. Legend suggests Wegner imagined it on a beach in the late 1940s, crafting a grid-like seat in a dune with found sailing rope. This distinctive design led to its early 1950s production.
