MID-CENTURY MODERN BALL CHAIR
Finnish designer Eero Aarnio created the original Ball Chair in 1963. Known as a classic of industrial design, it is also called The Globe Chair. Originally, it had a white outer shell and a red cloth interior. The Ball Chair features a 5-panel interior liner and a fiberglass shell with a glossy finish. It sits on a wide circular base and rotates a full 360 degrees.
MAKING THE EERO AARNIO BALL CHAIR ICON
Ideal for reading, private conversations, or browsing, sitting in this chair feels like being in a separate space within a room. The Ball Chair continues to gain popularity for its visual appeal and functionality. Kardiel's reproduction offers a high standard of detail, matching the original design accurately.
About Cashmere Wool Tweed
Cashmere wool is obtained from 'Cashmere goats,' historically known as Capra hircus laniger. These goats produce a double fleece with a fine, soft undercoat mingled with a coarser outer coating called Guard Hair. The fine under-down must be de-haired to separate the coarse hairs. After de-hairing, the premium 'cashmere' is ready for dyeing and conversion into yarn.
