Marcel Breuer (Hungarian, 1902-1981) for Gavina SpA, Italy. Pair of mid-century modern "Wassily" model lounge or armchairs, first designed in 1925. The chairs are composed of black leather with a welded, tubular chromed steel frame. With Stendig labels along the underside of each seat. Condition: There are no major breaks, losses, or repairs. Some scuffs and wear to the metal, especially along touch points and the undersides of the legs. Some small spots of patination along the chrome.
